Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2025

1. Information Service — Not Legal or Tax Advice

Malta Lex is an information retrieval and research tool, not a law firm or tax advisory service. The content generated by Malta Lex — including answers, summaries, and document analyses — is provided for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute and must not be relied upon as legal advice, tax advice, or professional advice of any kind. No attorney-client or advisor-client relationship is created by using Malta Lex. Every answer comes with source citations for verification; always consult a qualified Maltese lawyer or tax advisor before acting on any information.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Malta Lex ("the Service") you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Free plan is limited to 10 queries per day per device. Malta Lex reserves the right to modify or discontinue the Free plan with 30 days' notice.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including the AI model outputs, UI, and branding, is owned by Malta Lex Ltd. The underlying legislation is sourced from legislation.mt under the Government of Malta's open data licence. You retain ownership of documents you upload.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Malta Lex Ltd. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service or reliance on its outputs. Our aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 3 months preceding the claim.
